A safe school is a productive school, and Professor Bones of "Pirate School!" knows bullies lose their status when the student-body are empowered to stand up for their "mates" and bear witness.
This riotous and inspiring assembly has compelling pro-social themes woven subtly into its comical corsair curriculum. Students are prompted to follow their hearts, their ‘inner compasses’ and the vital concepts of Respect, Responsibility, Compassion and Courage are explored and underscored.
"Pirate School: Follow Your Compass!" helps kids explore the reasons why kids bully; to identify the types of harassing behavior (social and physical) and to discover positive strategies to help dispel and cancel the bullies power. This Arts in Ed programming treasure features a boisterous and heartfelt blend of full-audience participatory clown theater, cartoon-like sound effects, a rich musical score and boasts theatrical-grade costumes, beautiful props and lighthearted mayhem.
