OUTREACH. WORKSHOPS. RESIDENCIES.
FELLOWSHIP. ENRICHMENT. JOY.
Invite David Engel to:
Go deeper into your community with an outreach program designed for special needs children or for the pediatric hospital setting.
Enrich your audience’s experience with a clown/theatre workshop right in your venue.
With over twenty-five years specialized experience, David offers up several excellent outreach opportunities that will shine brightly with your audience (and sponsors) long after the curtain has fallen.
Hospital Clowning
A 5-hour visit to a local pediatric hospital includes performative ‘Clown Rounds” aimed at brining mirth and reducing stress for patients, their families, and staff directly in rooms, clinics, ER, ICU, and other units where children are being cared for.
Having been highly trained in this specialized field, David will work closely with your venue and local hospital staff to coordinate and realize an amazing day.
OPTIONAL: “What is Laughter Therapy?!” A Clown workshop for medical staff, nursing or social work students. Is your local hospital affiliated with a medical school? David can offer engaging 2-hour workshops to help enrich the doctors and nurses of tomorrow.
Special Needs Schools
After the show, David can visit for a day (or up to a week) at local schools which specialize in serving the physically disabled and Autistic communities.
Mr. Engel has two distinct programs. One is a “Play Therapy” series with multiple characters and the other is “Dr. Gravity’s Science Playroom!” that incorporates Earth Sciences in sensory-friendly and ability-appropriate ways with astonishing results.
