"Pirate School: Follow Your Compass!" aims to liberate children from the fear of bullying by promoting empathy, inclusion and social courage.
A safe school is a productive school, and "Pirate School: Follow Your Compass!" knows bullies lose their status when the student-body are empowered to bear witness and stand up for their "mates." This riotous and inspiring assembly has compelling pro-social themes woven into its comical corsair curriculum. Students are prompted to follow their hearts, their inner compasses and the vital concepts of Respect, Responsibility, Compassion and Courage are explored and underscored.
"Pirate School: Follow Your Compass!" helps kids explore reasons why kids bully, to identify the types of harassing behavior (social and physical) and to discover positive strategies to help dispel and delete the bullies power. This Arts in Ed programming treasure features a boisterous and heartfelt blend of full-audience participatory clown theater, cartoon-like sound effects, a rich musical score and boasts theatrical-grade costumes, beautiful props and lighthearted mayhem.
